Challenge #57 - I Can See Clearly Now... for Order of the Opus Gluei..
They are asking us to use clear plastic (acetate, etc.) in creating our project.
This is a simple because I am press for time. I have a cabinet full of simples thinking that one of these days I will use one of them.
This is cool.. Beate Johns has a tutorial on making this Luminaria out of a one piece of cardstock. Found it while I was lurking in Project Tuesday. They are asking us to make one. I used clear plastic for my windows in this simple project. I put a flower on one side, but I really like the butterfly. Inside is a tea candle.
I would like to think I will be more creative on the next one I make. I have till Tue.
Thanks for coming by my blog. Have a great week-end every body!

Ok -- here's an up date.. I took the flower and butterfly off.. to try out the tea candle. The plastic I use works just fine. As you see I lit and left it burning for about 3 or 4 minutes.. probably should have let it burn longer. It didn't catch on fire. Just thought you would like to know. LOL in case you want to make one. But its still makes one wonder how safe it would be. Hey just put something it in.. like candy etc.
Have a great day!

These are fabulous Fran. Very creative!
ReplyDeleteHi Fran (am waving)(am now embarrassed in front of the cat, who seems nonplussed - I'm weird and she knows it). This is great, I like the idea and actually because you didn't put patterned paper in the back I get more of a sense of how you put this together. So it is PERFECT. Besides, I know exactly what it's like having a starter project and then getting fancier with the next iteration. Love it, and I really enjoy that you participate with us at Opus Gluei!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. I thought about making a luminaria, but got distracted with all the other thoughts in my head. Anyhow, your's turned out really cute. Maybe you could use those little battery operated tea lights. (2 for $1 at the Dollar Tree) :-D
